Zoe decided to be born at 9:17 AM on Friday, February 29th...nine days later than the doctor's prediction. It was a sunny, crisp day in Burlington, Vermont...and a lovely day for a drive from central New York State - home to Zoe's four grandparents! Alerted by Brett at 7 AM that they had just given Petosin to Elisa to get things moving, we gathered our things and loaded the car. We were just out of our driveway, a little before 9 AM when Brett said they were getting things together for the delivery. About fifteen minutes later the phone buzzed - stunned, I starred at a beautiful text photo of Elisa and Zoe. Newspaper and book sat on my lap the entire drive as I texted the photo to as many friends/family as I could and...simply stared at that beautiful photo for the rest of the trip!
All four grandparents joined the rest of the family about 3 PM. Zoe thrilled us all with her beautiful little face and her calm and sweet disposition! I was mesmerized by her... satisfied to simply watch her for hours. I eventually held her in my arms, rubbed her little back and felt her move against my chest. Hello, Zoe. I'm your grandma.
Your parents, grandparents, Aunt Christie, Aunt Kat and Uncle Chip are all under your spell. You've entered a world of family and friends who immediately and unconditionally love you and eagerly anticipate watching you and knowing you!
Welcome, Zoe. xxoo

It's a beautiful day to be born!
Today is February 20, 2008. It's sunny (and cold) in the northeast and our family is anxiously awaiting the phone call from Elisa and Brett saying that they are heading to the hospital to give birth to our first grandchild!
No rush, baby, but you will be "late" if you don't arrive in the next eight and a half hours!!! We are all so ready for your birth! Your mom has been showered with baby gifts and your nursery is ready. Your dad has put your new "stuff" together and is waiting patiently.
Yesterday I sorted through books I read to your mom and fantasized about reading them to you some day! So come on...get movin'...please?!
